Out of Service Tags do not provide personal protection \u2013 they are a communication tool on the status of plant. Removal of Tags \u2212Only a competent person from the working discipline who repaired the equipment eg. Mechanical or electrical maintenance is authorised to remove an Out-of-Service tag once it has been assessed that the plant or equipment is now fit for use and that the hazard has been removed. \u2212The Out of Service Tag must only be removed when work has been completed or there is no longer a risk of exposure to any uncontrolled hazard relating to the repair work undertaken.<\/p>\n
